Blogging

Today I have been working on my other site which is somewhat connected to this blog as well.  The website is called ‘Embracing the Impossible‘.  The rain we are having here in Kansas has been such a help with getting me motivated to write again.  It has been such a productive day today too.

Blogging is such a great way to be open and express yourself.  I have been really enjoying it because it gives me a sense of control and freedom to be me.  Life is all about building blocks in my opinion and with my blogging it seems to be the same.  I build on my writing by expressing myself and sharing information that could be helpful to others.  All bloggers are different and have their own writing styles as well.  As a mom my writing style is more free spirited and open when expressing something.

If you ever decide to blog it is really easy to get started too!  All you have to do is create a site from either Word Press or Weebly.  I use both sites and they are great!  They are easy to join and all you have to do is sign up, then pick a style, and begin blogging. 🙂

Today has been an interesting day considering that my older kids are hanging out with daddy today!  He thought it would be a great day to spend quality time with the older two.  I have managed to get the house in somewhat decent shape and have had a lot of downtime today which has been a nice change to my speedy Gonzales pace.

I decided today to give myself a Jamicure, watch the movie HOME for the hundredth time :), and spend one on one quality time with the little ones.  It has been such an amazing day so far and a very memorable one at that.  I hope all of you are having a wonderful Holiday Weekend as well.

Productivity at It’s Finest

This week has been a very productive one, the only thing I found unproductive was the doctor’s visit yesterday.  They didn’t seem to be as helpful and only left me with more problems to worry about.  I will say Vacation Bible School was a success though.

Today I have been kind of going with the flow and you know it really is funny how much more relaxed I am than when I am worrying about every little detail of my typical day.  I guess the lesson I learned from this is don’t sweat the stuff you can’t control just go at your own pace.  🙂  Can’t believe it is already July 1st!!! Yikes, time is just a flying this year!  Soon school will be starting and then Christmas!

I am brainstorming as well on another book I am wanting to write.  I really enjoy dystopian fiction novels and science fiction.  🙂  Well I hope you all have had a great day and enjoy your family during this wonderful Holiday weekend! shutter3

My StoryBook

Sometimes I wonder if I am literally in the twilight zone :).  Laundry everywhere, toys scattered like death traps…Yikes! and  video games a blaring  while the cats are chasing each other from one end to the house to the other.  Yep, that is a typical day for me and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.  Being a mom is so enjoyable and has so much meaning.  Through the crazy and dramatic moments there are always unforgettable memories being created.  Life is like a story book with lots of amazing pictures.  The memories are the pictures and as you gain them you are building on your story.  So what is your story… What is your adventure?

We all have a story to tell no matter how interesting, strange, out of this world it may sound.  Everyone is different and has a purpose to fulfill.  No one can write your story except yourself.  Mine is to serve the Lord ALL the days of my life, standing by my beloved husband through it all, to be the best Mom I can possibly be to my Children, and live my life to the fullest!  🙂

Pinterest Addiction Alert

Yep…. That’s right!  Pinterest has become the latest fad in my little bubble!

When you have kiddos finding crafts can be a chore at times.  Not with Pinterest ❤️.  Nope!  All you have to do is browse and you will find something that will interest you! 😉

Trust me, Pinterest has everything you can think of.  I even promote my Avon and Jamberry businesses on there.

It is a great place to also throw out your ideas to others as well.  Yep Pinterest has become this mommy’s new best friend!!!

God is so Great!

Patience is a hard trait to follow through on, especially when you are eager!  Recently I have been struggling with the ability to be patient.  As my health declines and the grief from my beloved grandfather takes a toll on me my ability to be patient has been tested.

I am trying to rebuild myself one piece at a time.  Sometimes that’s all you can do!  As God tries us we tend to shut down and sulk.  But God is in control no matter what circumstance you may be facing!  Thank goodness!! God is my rock and foundation and without him I would fall to pieces!!!  God is so Great!!!!! 😊

Moving Forward!

hope

Recently I have been trying to take a step back and re-evaluate the plan God has in store for me.  Ever since I lost my grandfather I have been faced with many hurdles that has changed my perspective of many things.  Sometimes we get too comfortable and once our world is shaken or even broken by a catastrophic event in your life it can be nearly impossible to pick up all the pieces.  I lost myself in grief and ever since then my life has been tumbling into a spiral vortex until today.  Today I realized why my Grandfather sang  “Blessed Assurance” and the true meaning of this hymn.  My life is not my own, I forgot the meaning of being a servant unto the Lord.  I have been selfish and have pushed God away because I was hurt, in pain, and yes even angry.  I didn’t know how to cope and I built up a resistance while trying to fix myself.  Today I realized as I listened to that song on Pandora that I am wrong and that there is no way for me to fix myself but to lean on the Lord and His Grace.  God is with you no matter how bad the storm is in your life!   All you have to do is reach out to Him.

To be honest parents forget that children take in everything that they are exposed to.  We don’t filter normally because we don’t think about it, we don’t acknowledge how we act can effect our children’s well-being.  Sometimes it takes a reality check to be able to come to terms with the bad habits we have in our lives.  Depression, anger, resentment, jealousy, and so many more emotions that you may be feeling are also harmful to your child.

We are an example to our children, we are not here to parade around our accomplishments and push our children aside like trophies.  We should be focusing on our kids and their futures not about what benefits us (the parents)!  Everywhere you go you will notice that the family dynamic has changed, and it is very sad.  Parents are becoming more laxed on the well-being of their child’s safety.  It is concerning and children are at high risk for emotional set-backs due to the lack of Parenting that goes on today.  I have worked with many families and have dealt with many situations that were heart-wrenching.

Parenting is not easy and for the weak, it is the hardest job you will ever be given.  When you become a parent you are taking on a huge responsibility but very rewarding one at that. Here is an acronym that really speaks to me.  It is one that I made up and is very relevant to the life and meaning of the term Parent.

Priceless
Ambitious
Rewarding
Engaging
Never-ending
Team-building

Taco Soup…Yum!

Taco soup has become a family favorite or at least with me and the kids it has.  I think I have driven my husband, Bj, crazy because we have had it so much recently.  It is a great soup for the winter though, especially on the very cold nights!!!  Here is the recipe if you would like to give it a try or just to have the recipe on hand!

Here is a simple recipe that I find very convenient. TACO SOUP!!!!

I normally get the following:

2 cans of light or dark kidney beans
2 cans of corn
2 cans of tomatoes
1 can of rotel tomatoes
1 packet of ranch powder
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 lb of ground beef

First you need to brown the meat! Then you add the rest of the ingredients. Put the temperature on about 3 and stir. Once hot you can begin to eat or you can let it cook all day. Hope you enjoy!!!
